X-Men 97 season 2 review; do the positives outweigh the negatives?

The finale has released yesterday, I have come up with a full review of this season.
The season started off strong with the first four episodes, which were focused on the whereabouts of each X-Team, with Cyclops, Morph, Storm, Wolverine and Jean Grey in the future, with Nathan Summers, who meet up with Forge to defeat Apocalypse. This episode was a good intro to the season, however the 4 Horsemen of Apocalypse only showing up in this episode, only to get defeated easily was too fast.The next episode of the X-Force in the present was also a strong start, it set up the X-Force's beliefs and morals perfectly and gave Jubilee some screen time and fight scenes, however Archangel and Sunspot felt sidelined in this episode.
Episode 3 and 4 may be the best episodes this season, the team in Egypt, Rogue, Beast, Magneto, Nightcrawler and Charles Xavier was one of the best rosters out of the three teams, and En Sabur Nur was a very good character in these episodes. Episode 4 was even better, and Magneto's death was very well written, it set up Apocalypse to be a great villain, however the rest of the season did not keep this consistency, episode 5 was a filler episode, but it was entertaining, and it was cool to see Sabretooth and Lady Deathstrike and Omega Red since they weren't in season 1 (other than cameos).
Episode 6 was also good, Polaris was a great character in that episode, and it was cool to see her reach her full power, however this episode also felt a little off-course, since at this point, Apocalypse hadn't made any move since killing Magneto and going back in time from the future, it was also good to add another character to the X-Men. Episode 7 was another great episode, Exodus and Colossus showing up for the first time was good, it gave the show more mutants to utilize later on, only for Exodus to die in that episode, there is wishful thinking that he could return later on, but he would be wasted if he doesn't return in a later season.
The final 2 episodes, 8 and 9. Episode 8 having the X-Men and X-Force teaming up to defeat Horseman of Death Gambit despite clashing ideas and morals would have been greater, but this episode happened too late into the season, and Gambit being the only Horseman made no sense, since Magik returning as a Horseman was set up an episode earlier, and the constant flashbacks to Genosha also made sense for more Horsemen to appear, but Gambit was the only one. Moving on to the finale, the X-Factor had very limited screen time, the fight between the X-Factor/Force alliance vs the X-Men felt too short, although Gambit's return from being corrupted was an epic moment, the fight between Apoclalypse and the X-teams felt way too short, and everybody felt weaker than earlier in the show, then Rogue appearing and defeating Apocalypse in one hit was way too fast paced, they had power from the same source, so why wouldn't Apocalypse put up a fight against her, especially since he was already stronger than her without his celestial armor in episode 4, they should've had a longer fight where all of the X-Men and X-Force had a bit of spotlight, instead of them getting defeated in three hits and him losing in one hit. The saving grace of this episode was Nightcrawler's sacrifice, it was a great, emotional moment, and he was one of the most consistent characters this season.
Overall, the animation, characters and most of the episodes were very good, but it was let down by being rushed, short fights, short episodes and most of the characters were better in season 1, not everybody had the spotlight and the potential for this season was ultimately wasted by the main story being absent in episode 5, 6 and 7. Overall, season 1 was a lot better, and I would say this season is a 6/10.
