Spider-Man Brand New Day second trailer breakdown

Spider-Man BND trailer 2 easter eggs and theories

The second Spider-Man trailer has released, with multiple new scenes to form theories with.

The start of the trailer, Spider-Man is fighting Scorpion and he seems to zone out and easily overpower Scorpion. Some people presume this is the Venom Symbiote taking over, however I believe it is Spider-Man's DNA mutating into more of a spider than a human, as he is asking Bruce Banner for help, so it is probable that this theory is correct.

Spider-Man is also looking to suppress his new mutation with the help of Bruce Banner, who later transforms into Savage Hulk instead of Professor Hulk, which is very good, since Professor Hulk is not as popular as his more savage personality. This change could possibly be mind control, however the actual villain is still unknown.

The villain in this film also has telekinetic powers, and uses them to taunt Spider-Man by uses ordinary people to project his insecurities, and many people theorize this villain to be Jean Grey, and evidence does point toward this being her, since the MCU is going into the mutant saga after Secret Wars and that the villain is played by Sadie Sink who looks somewhat like a younger Jean Grey, but I do not think it would be the smartest to introduce one of the most iconic mutants in Marvel in a Spider-Man film especially since if it is Jean Grey, she seems like a villain in this movie, however she is a hero in most media until the Dark Phoenix plotline, which is too early to introduce if this would be her first appearance. Another villain is the Hand, which appears in both trailers, they could be following orders from the main villain who may be mind controlling the leaders of the Hand.

A fan favorite character, the Punisher is also returning, and he seems to be helping Spider-Man. Many people still theorize Daredevil to return in this, and Matt Murdock is currently in prison, however there is a scene of Spider-Man fighting the Hand in what seems to be like a prison, meaning Murdock may escape and hear the fight and join in to help Spider-Man.

Additionally, Ned and MJ's story isn't finished, the show up frequently throughout the trailer, interacting with both identities; Peter and Spider-Man. Ned is trying to figure out who Spider-Man is, and MJ looks like she will be Spider-Man's love interest again, and Peter may possibly reveal his identity to them in this film, and ending up confessing the past to them.

There was also a small reference to Miles Morales, since they used the Spider-Man (Miles Morales) voice actor from the Playstation games, Nadji Jeter, for a random civilian who was mind controlled by the main villain, although this may not be important, it is good to see him getting appreciation, as he was verry consistent and a great voice actor across all three Spider-Man games, and he could be great for a future live action Spider-Man one day.

Overall, this film contains many different characters, which includes a vast array of small, street tier villains, and hopefully it is not too crowded like other MCU film have been. In conclusion, the film looks really good, and the main villain being a mystery adds more suspense.
