Important facts you need to know about Star Wars' Savage Opress

The new Disney+ Obi-Wan Kenobi series has ignited many viewers interests in Star Wars, with fans flocking to watch other storylines between films, such as 'Clone Wars' and 'Rebels'.

With this current trend in mind, CBB have decided to list 10 facts about Savage Opress who features in both series:

10. Savage Opress was born on Dathomir and is of the species Zabrak.

9. It's clear to see the similarities between Opress and Maul and that is because they are brothers. He is the younger brother of Darth Maul and older brother of Feral. Like his brother, Opress also wields a double-sided lightsaber in battle.

8. Despite being brothers, Savage Opress was ordered to kill his younger brother, Feral, by Assajj Ventress, in a test to show his loayalty and new-found strength. Twisted by the Nightsister magic, Savage murdered his younger sibling by breaking his neck, passing his final test. The nightsister magic allowed the Dathomirian a strong, raw connection to the force, rivalling the power of a Jedi Master.

7. A force-sensitive Dathomirian Nightbrother, Savage became a Sith apprentice to Count Dooku, later becoming a a Sith Lord himself, apprenticed to older brother Maul.

6. It was Opress who saved Maul after he was defeated and chopped in half by Obi-Wan Kenobi on Naboo at the end of Episode I: The Phantom Menace. Mother Talzin sent him on a quest to find his brother which led him to the junkyard world of Lotho Minor, where he found Maul a deranged, broken shell of himself, crawling around on spider-like cybernetic legs. He brought him back to Dathomir so Talzin could restore his amputated legs and twisted mind.

5. Apprenticed to Dooku, Opress slaughtered a Jedi Master and his Padawan on his first mission against the Galactic Republic on the planet Devaron. Jedi Master Halsey and his Padawan Knox were overpowered by his brute strength during their hand to hand combat. Dooku often tortured his student with force lightning whenever he failed in his missions or in training.

4. Ventress planned to use Opress to kill Dooku, whereas Dooku planned to use him to kill Darth Sidious and take over the galaxy.

3. Maul and Opress once joined the Death Watch to help Pre Vizsla and Bo-Katan Kryze take over Mandalore. However, after working together for a long time, Maul challenged Vizsla to a duel for control of Mandalore, which the leader accepted, but was defeated and beheaded. As leader of Mandalore, Darth Sidious became wary of their growing power.

2. Both brothers were defeated by Obi-Wan so they enacted revenge on their biggest rival by killing his lover, Duchess Satine Kryze, who died in Kenobi's arms. They once captured Kenobi too, after setting a tra on the planet Raydonia, torturing him onboard their ship until Ventress rescued the Jedi Master.

1. The Emperor himself would be the downfall of Savage Opress. Judging his old apprentice Maul and his sibling a threat, Darth Sidious dueled them both, slaying Opress in battle. As the nightsister magic left his body, he transformed back to his original form before dying in his brother's arms. His last words were: "Brother, I am an unworthy apprentice. I'm not like you. I never was."

Bonus Fact: Obi-Wan chopped off Savage's arm during a duel on Florrum.

Extra Bonus Fact: Maul and Opress once defeated Jabba the Hut inside his own palace on Tatooine, forcing the crime leader to join them.
