10 Incredible facts on Obi-wan Kenobi

Important facts you need to know about Star Wars' Obi-Wan

The new Disney+ Obi-Wan Kenobi series has been awesome so far, creating many talking points and debates amongst Star Wars fans, so CBB have decided to celebrate the success by listing 10 very interesting facts about Kenobi here:

10. Obi-Wan Kenobi was born in 57BBY on the planet Stewjon* and died in 0BBY on the Death Star in the Alderaan System. He told his Padawan Anakin Skywalker that he did not remember ever leaving his homeworld because he was so young.

*The planet Stewjon was named after comedian Jon Stewart as a joke after he interviewed George Lucas.

9. He trained two members of the Skywalker family - Anakin and his son Luke.

8. He defeated Darth Maul four times. The first time in Phantom Menace, when he chopped him in half, but miraculously survived and later got mechanical legs with the help of his brother, Savage Oppress. Kenobi had help from a Jedi named Gallia in the second battle with Maul, as well as some pirates who died during the fight. The third time was when Assajj Ventress and Kenobi took out Maul and Savage during the Clone Wars. Finally, when Kenobi was an old man, he killed Maul on Tatooine with three strikes to the chest during Rebels, killing him for good this time.

7. Although Maul couldn't get revenge for his debilitating defeat to Kenobi, he did manage to kill his former love, Satine Kryze, the Duchess of Mandalore.

6. Kenobi also killed the Separatist Supreme Leader General Grievous during the Battle of Utapau, effectively ending the Clone Wars.

5. His biggest battle of all came against his former Padawan, Anakin, who had turned to the dark side of the force when becoming apprenticed to Darth Sidious. Kenobi defeated the new Darth Vader chopping of his limbs and leaving him for dead on Mustafar. However, Vader survived and the Galactic Empire took over the galaxy, forcing the few remaining Jedi left after the Great Jedi Purge into hiding.

4. Changing his name from Obi-Wan to Ben, he watched over Luke Skywalker on Tatooine as the boy grew up. Ten years on from exile, Kenobi was forced to come out from hiding to rescue Princess Leia Organa, Luke's twin sister, which is the storyline used in the new series.

3. When Luke was old enough, he began the boy's Jedi training during another mission to rescue his sister Leia, which led them to the Death Star where he encountered Vader for the final time, resulting in his death. Kenobi sacrificed himself to become one with the force, which allowed him to continue guiding Luke during his training.

2. Just like Anakin used to get frustrated with his Jedi master, Kenobi too used to clash with Qui-Gon over their different philosophies.

1. Obi-Wan once faked his own death, which caused a rift between him and Anakin at the time. During the Clone Wars, Kenobi faked his own death in order to go undercover as a scoundrel in an tattempt to foil a bounty hunter's plan. In order for it to work, Anakin and his apprentice Ahsoka Tano both had to believe he had died, which angered Skywalker greatly when the truth is revealed.

Bonus Fact: Obi-Wan trained the younglings in what to do in the event of a disaster like Order 66.
