DC's Lanterns easter eggs and trailer breakdown

DC's trailer for the Lanterns show has just released, with John Stewart and Hal Jordan as the main characters, following a teacher-student dynamic, with Hal as a veteran lantern and John as a new lantern in training, trying to find a missing Green Lantern from Earth, which is most likely Guy Gardner, so it may be a detective story.

There were some lines in the trailer which I don't like, such as Hal stating that he's never talked to any of the Green Lanterns (because he doesn't understand them) even though in almost every version of Hal Jordan, he is friends with Kilowog and Tomar Re and Tomar Tu, and the ring can translate languages into the language that the ring's wielder speaks in, so it seems like James Gunn and Tom King are making this into a more realistic version of the character, which fits considering that it is a detective story.

Some theories of this show is that Guy Gardner has gone missing, and that he was murdered by Hal Jordan, who would reveal himself as Parralax near the end of the season, and season two of Lanterns could possibly be Parralax Hal vs the Green Lantern corps and the DC event, Zero Hour. 

Overall, I did not like the trailer for Lanterns, it lacked color and looks empty and dull, hopefully the DCEU makes it as colorful and good as Green Lantern comics.
