My theories and review for X-Men 97; who is the main antagonist of the show?

Can X-Men 97 hold up to the original show?

Spoilers ahead

The new X-Men series is extremely good, from the characters to the storyline, it is amazing.

First of all, the characters. In the original show, Wolverine seemed to be the main focus, however he has less screen time in the reboot, and it gives other characters time in the spotlight. Rogue, Magneto, Gambit, Cyclops and Marvel Girl have all had a lot of time on screen. Cyclops is extremely good in this series, trying to struggle with Charles Xavier's death and being stressed over Nathan Summers whilst being a member of the X-Men could make him angry, and we've seen glimpses of that in episode 5, he had a red suit in comics that he used when he partly agreed with Magneto, and he could wear it and go extremely mad, causing the X-Men to stop him.

Episode 5 of X-Men 97 was extremely impactful, Nightcrawler joining the X-Men and seeing Gambit and Magneto's sacrifice were heartbreaking, Madeline Pryor being a clone of Jean Grey and the mother of Cable was a good plot twist. Emma Frost being introduced can help the show with more storylines and characters.

Theories

Now that episode 5 has released, we have been left on a cliffhanger again. Who sent the Tri-Sentinel? Who commit genocide on Genosha. Who murdered hundreds of mutants? Believe it or not, this has happened in the comics before. Charles Xavier has a twin sister who he killed in the womb when he realized she was evil. Cassandra Nova attacked Genosha using sentinels in comics before, so they could be using that storyline now. In addition to this, Storm will likely be gaining her powers back in the second half of the season. Also, there will be the Shi'Ar empire returning, with Gladiator. They were in the original show during the Phoenix Saga. Another cameo appearance is Ronan the Executioner, who could be in the show just for the Shi'Ar and the X-Men to meet again. Finally, Wolverine could get a lot more time on the screen in this half of the season with Captain America, there could be an episode of then trying to find leads of who attacked Genosha or maybe helping Steve on a task. Finally, with the nation of Genosha destroyed, Marvel could bring in Krakoa, another island that's alive. It is supposed to be a mutant haven with three rules, respect the Garden, don't kill anyone and make more mutants.

In conclusion, X-Men 97 is extremely good and it is on the same level of the previous show.
