During the 2015 Secret Wars event, Owen Reece was a power battery for Doctor Doom, who was the god of the universe. Although he had an army of Thors, Doctor Strange as his right hand man, Galactus as a babysitter and near omnipotence, he still could not fix a handful of things. His face was still scarred and destroyed and he had a resistance rising up against him. This resistance included both Spider-Men; Peter Parker and Miles Morales.
When infiltrating Doom's lair, Miles Morales found Molecule Man. Owen stated that he was hungry and that Doom hadn't fed him. It was clear that he was hungry so Miles Morales looked in his pocket and found a burger. He gave it to Molecule Man, however it was eight years and three weeks old, but Owen didn't care, he had food, he was happy.
Later on, the King of the Dead, Black Panther (who was wielding the Infinity Gauntlet), attacked Doctor Doom. Doom quickly beat Black Panther and his associate, Namor. As he towered over T'Challa, Victor Von Doom realized it was a distraction. Mister Fantastic, his old enemy, was able to convince Molecule Man to strip the old god of his power, which he did, simply because Doctor Doom didn't feed him. Later on, Molecule Man helped Franklin Richards (Mister Fantastic's son) recreate universes that had been merged together during Doom's reign. As a last act with Doom's powers, Mister Fantastic recreated the tyrant's face.
