Is The Flash worth watching?
Warning: Spoilers ahead!
The Flash is a brand new DC film that shows the speedster's origin story.
Flash goes back in time after a talk with Iris West (a reporter, long-term friend and Flash's love interest) about his dad who is currently serving a murder sentence in prison.
Barry Allen visited his family home and instantly had flashbacks, first they were happy memories then they turned dark to the day his mum died, stabbed by an intruder. He fled from the sad scene, filled with emotion and began to run faster than ever before and found himself accidentally travelling through time. He went away and sought the advice of his friend, Bruce Wayne, who advised him against trying it again.
But he didn't listen and whilst travelling through time, a mysterious, scary looking speedster shows up from nowhere and knocks Flash out of his barrier, causing him to land in a different timeline.
By going back in time, Barry causes a chain of events meaning his mum survived and there was a new younger version of Barry who had no powers. However, the day he went back to was the day he was given his powers, he then went to the place he got his powers from with the young Barry. Flash tries to recreate the accident that gave him his powers yet, it stripped Flash of his powers and transferred it to the new Barry.
Suddenly, General Zod shows up on Earth to get a Kryptonian. Barry, and the Kid Flash go to his apartment so they could look up and find superheroes, the Justice League. To their shock, the only member is Batman.
The pair go to the Batcave where an old Batman, played by Michael Keaton goes to Russia with them to free Superman. After fighting mercenaries, they find Supergirl instead. The four escape and go to the Batcave to recreate Barry's accident.
The four go to fight Zod and after a fight, both Batman and Supergirl die. Saddened, both Flashes go back to stop this, but it failed. Batman died fighting a Kryptonian and Supergirl was stabbed. They try again. And again. Flash stops but Kid Flash continues going. Eventually, the monster of Dark Flash is created and he fights Flash. Kid Flash shows up to help but is stabbed and dies, erasing Dark Flash. Flash then runs to reverse everything and everything goes back to normal. Barry goes to his dad's court case and his dad is let out from prison from the help of Wayne Tech.
Everything is normal now other than how Batman has once again changed from Ben Affleck to George Clooney.
The CGI can be alright at some scenes but horrible at most. They could've done more with the CGI because Flash and Kid Flash's suits were horrible because of the CGI.
The suits for Batman and Supergirl were good but Flash and Kid Flash had bad suits, though Dark Flash looked amazing.
The characters were great, both Flashes were great. Supergirl and Batman were really good as side characters.
The villains were underwhelming. Zod was the same as in Man Of Steel and Dark Flash was alright, though he had barely any screen time and lines.
The plot was good and wasn't too complicated. It was easy to comprehend and they could have done some improvements to it.
The acting and emotion from Ezra was great, especially when he sees his mum for the last time, it was very touching.
The fights were good, but there was missing a speedster fight, Flash and Kid Flash vs Dark Flash would have had potential, but there was more fights with Batman than with Flash.
Finally, the humour. It was funny at some parts but other parts the jokes weren't funny.
In conclusion, The Flash is a 7/10 in my opinion.
