The strongest Avengers
The Avengers are 'Earth's Mightiest Heroes', but which members are amongst the strongest in the superhero team? Here's my list below:
10. Hercules is a god from Olympia and has taken down the Hulk before and also been toe to toe with the powerful Asgardian, Thor, more than once. 'The Prince of Power' has superhuman strength, agility, durability and endurance.
9. Hyperion is Marvel's version of Superman and possesses flight and superhuman strength. He has destroyed planets with ease. Originally, he was part of the team Squadron Sinister, assembled by the Grandmaster to battle Kang the Conqueror and the Avengers.
8. Red Hulk is very strong and has taken out the Hulk more than once, which is the sole reason he was bestowed with the powers from the organisation A.I.M. He is actually General Ross, Hulk's longtime nemesis and father to his girlfriend, Betty.
7. Wonder Man is another character that firstly fought against the Avengers before later joining them. He put down Red Hulk without any major problems. He can fly and is immortal.
6. Dr. Strange is an extremely talented but egotistical surgeon who becomes the Sorcerer Supreme after an encounter with the Ancient One. Steve Strange battles with and averts mystical threats every day.
5. Sentry is one of my favourite characters and has been a member of the New Avengers, Dark Avengers and Mighty Avengers. His immense strength, likened to the 'power of one million exploding suns', depends on his mental state.
4. Blue Marvel nearly destroyed a moon just by throwing away a medal and went up against an Avengers team which had Sentry, Iron Man and Aries in their ranks. Find out more about Adam Brashear here: Superhero Origins: Blue Marvel
3. Thor is one of the most well-known, popular and strongest characters in Marvel. The God of Thunder with his trusty weapon, Mjolnir, has scared Quasar by defeating a villain and has pushed infinite weight.
2. Captain Universe is the guardian and protector of the Eternity. He has superhuman strength, flight, telekinesis and time travel. He once eliminated a threat which took out the Avengers.
1. Star Brand is the name for a number of objects of power empowering it's wielders with infinite, god-like powers. Star Brand has killed one of the Ivory Kings Beyonders, and together they took out The Living Tribunal and Eternity and other cosmic beings.
