Which rivalry in Marvel and DC is the best?

Every great hero needs a great villain...

There are many Marvel and DC rivalries in their respective worlds, but lets explore which is the best.

Firstly, the most iconic Marvel and DC rivals are Spider-Man vs Green Goblin; Joker vs Batman; Thor vs Loki; Captain America vs Red Skull; Doctor Strange vs Dormammu; Batman vs Deathstroke; Batman vs Bane; Adam Warlock vs Thanos; Superman vs Zod; Shazam vs Black Adam; Hulk vs Abomination; Superman vs Lex Luthor; and Thor vs Gorr.

From that long list of potential winners, Thor vs Gorr, Hulk vs Abomination, and Black Adam vs Shazam are out. They are all good conflicts but they don't stand out as much as many of the others.

Next, Red Skull vs Captain America is also eliminated. Their constant clashes make for great films in the MCU, but the rivalry is not quite as iconic as Strange vs Dormammu or Adam Warlock vs Thanos.

Now, Adam Warlock vs Thanos, Dr Strange vs Dormammu, and Batman vs Bane. All of them are iconic and memorable, but not up to the same level as Joker vs Batman.

Next on the list, Zod vs Superman, Batman vs Bane, and Thor vs Loki are all up there as some of the greatest rivalries ever and ones that everyone knows. The recent DC and Marvel films have all featured these stories.

Finally, Lex Luthor vs Superman, Batman vs Joker, and Green Goblin vs Spider-Man all make my final round. 

For me, the winner is Batman vs Joker. Everyone knows their famous rivalry, whether you are a superhero fan or not, and the film The Dark Knight was one of the greatest movies of all-time and summed up their rivalry well, whilst making it even better than ever.
